I am at school...still, obviously. For those of you who are considering college, etc, it's so much easier when you're actually there - it's the beforehand stuff (applications, etc) that are a pain in the ass.
That being said, Friday night I went into the city to see The Corpse Bride (I <3 Johnny Depp) and they showed the NEW trailer for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I found out it's rated PG-13, and I'm not going to lie...that excited me for some reason. If you go to yahoo.com and go to movies, the new trailer is on there. I've already watched it a couple of times.
As far as my fanfiction goes, I really hope to continue writing it once I get into the rhythm of college, but for now I'm just trying to keep up with all the exams and 5 page papers.

I'm in college now! I didn't update all summer, which I know - it's lame, and I apologize. I HAVE however, been written like a crazy person, and I think I'm actually going to post some of it now. I have a whole mess of oneshots and even one long story that I'm planning on posting once it's finished.
So anyway, I moved into college on Sunday and I'm really enjoying it so far. I just finished my orientation, and my classes start on Thursday. I'm loving it, college really is a good time.
So anyway, I'm off maybe to write something. If anybody still actually reads this and is interested, comment...love the comments :-).

Sorry, didn't mean to fall off the face of the Earth for like a month.
Hopefully I'll post something soon...I've been crazy busy, I have 22 days left of school. However, next week is my vacation so I'm hoping to finish She Will Be Loved next week.
In the mean time, if you're into Weasley Twin/Hermione stuff, I'm betaing a story for one of my very good friends from my school...her name on ff.net is MoonFey. Read it!
Um. That's about it.

So yes, where did I abruptly leave off the other night?
Okay, for those of you familiar with Pride and Prejudice, my plot is going to be slightly different. The Bennets, essentially equal the Weasleys except there are changes - There are like 6 brothers and one sister who will be Elizabeth - Ginny. Bingley, Jane Bennet's suitor will be Ron, and Jane will be Hermione, Harry will be Mr. Darcy (thus making this story, essentially, HG (my first!), RHr, and a little bit of DG (the character of Wickham will be Draco). Other characters have also been decided but are minute and need not be in this entry.
It's going to be on the basic idea of Austen's novel and will be set in the same time. It will still be the wizarding world but still, of course, very AU.
It will be a challenge to learn to write in a new dialect and such, but I'm really excited about it.
Oh, and a small tidbit of info that kind of made me laugh - I was at accepted student day at Curry yesterday, and I met the English composition Professor I'll be having next year because he teaches essentially the honors kids I guess - he came up to me and sat down with my family and I while we were eating brunch and askd me if I was a good writer and I giggled. I'm really going to enjoy college, I think. It's very point blank in your face and that's definitely what I need.

I've been struck by one of those intriguing plot bunnies that are impossible to fight.
Anyone on here read Pride and Prejudice? It's time for me to do a completely AU spinoff, because I <3 Jane Austen.
More details later, it's time for me to go later.

Sorry, I was way too lazy to tag that.
Anyway, hopefully I'll be updating my fiction soon. Unfortunately, school took over my life again. (I just have to keep telling myself I only have 35 days left). I have an 8-10 page paper due in a couple weeks but after that I should be good. I have the next chapter actually written out, but typing it and posting it is another story altogether.
Random note: did anyone else notice how ff.net changed their rating system? Ugh, I'm slightly annoyed. The movie ratings were a lot easier to judge stories by.
Hmm, nothing so interesting going on in my life right now. Maybe an update when things are more exciting.

Okay, let me first apologize for the lack updates. For any of you that have been involved in a musical or other production, the last few weeks are insane.
In any case, I have it all written out longhand, hopefully it'll be on here this week.
In the mean time, I thought my girls might like something to lift their spirits. I found this, and I applied to me in so many ways...
Ode to the Nice Girl
This is my tribute to the nice girls. To the nice girls who are overlooked, who become friends and nothing more, who spend hours fixating upon their looks and their personalities and their actions because it must be they that are doing something wrong. This is for the girls who don't give it up on the first date, who don't want to play mind games, who provide a comforting hug and a supportive audience for a story they've heard a thousand times. This is for the girls who understand that they aren't perfect and that the guys they're interested in aren't either, for the girls who flirt and laugh and worry and obsess over the slightest glance, whisper, touch, because somehow they are able to keep alive that hope that maybe... maybe this time he'll have understood. This is an homage to the girls who laugh loud and often, who are comfortable in skirts and sweats and combat boots, who care more than they should for guys who don't deserve their attention. This is for those girls who have been in the trenches, who have watched other girls time and time again fake up and make up and fuck up the guys in their lives without saying a word. This is for the girls who have been there from the beginning and have heard the trite words of advice, from "there are plenty of fish in the sea," to "time heals all wounds." This is to honor those girls who know that guys are just as scared as they are, who know that they deserve better, who are seeking to find it.
This is for the girls who have never been in love, but know that it's an experience that they don't want to miss out on. For the girls who have sought a night with friends and been greeted by a night of catcalling, rude comments and explicit invitations that they'd rather not have experienced. This is for the girls who have spent their weekends sitting on the sidelines of a beer pong tournament or a case race, or playing Florence Nightingale for a vomiting guy friend or a comatose crush, who have received a drunk phone call just before dawn from someone who doesn't care enough to invite them over but is still willing to pass out in their bed. This is for the girls who have left sad song lyrics in their away messages, who have tried to make someone understand through a subliminally appealing profile, who have time and time again dropped their male friend hint after hint after hint only to watch him chase after the first blonde girl in a skirt. This is for the girls who have been told that they're too good or too smart or too pretty, who have been given compliments as a way of breaking off a relationship, who have ever been told they are only wanted as a friend.
This one's for the girls who you can take home to mom, but won't because it's easier to sleep with a whore than foster a relationship; this is for the girls who have been led on by words and kisses and touches, all of which were either only true for the moment, or never real to begin with. This is for the girls who have allowed a guy into their head and heart and bed, only to discover that he's just not ready, he's just not over her, he's just not looking to be tied down; this is for the girls who believe the excuses because it's easier to believe that it's not that they don't want you, it's that they don't want anyone. This is for the girls who have had their hearts broken and their hopes dashed by someone too cavalier to have cared in the first place; this is for the nights spent dissecting every word and syllable and inflection in his speech, for the nights when you've returned home alone, for the nights when you've seen from across the room him leaning a little too close, or standing a little too near, or talking a little too softly for the girl he's with to be a random hookup. This is for the girls who have endured party after party in his presence, finally having realized that it wasn't that he didn't want a relationship: it was that he didn't want you. I honor you for the night his dog died or his grandmother died or his little brother crashed his ...car and you held him, thinking that if you only comforted him just right, or said the right words, or rubbed his back in the right way then perhaps he'd realize what it was that he already had. This is for the night you realized that it would never happen, and the sunrise you saw the next morning after failing to sleep.
This is for the "I really like you, so let's still be friends" comment after you read more into a situation than he ever intended; this is for never realizing that when you choose friends, you seldom choose those which make you cry yourself to sleep. This is for the hugs you've received from your ...female friends, for the nights they've reassured you that you are beautiful and intelligent and amazing and loyal and truly worthy of a great guy; this is for the despair you all felt as you sat in the aftermath of your tears, knowing that that night the only companionship you'd have was with a pillow and your teddy bear. This is for the girls who have been used and abused, who have endured what he was giving because at least he was giving something; this is for the stupidity of the nights we've believed that something was better than nothing, though his something was nothing we'd have ever wanted. This is for the girls who have been satisified with too little and who have learned never to expect anything more: for the girls who don't think that they deserve more, because they've been conditioned for so long to accept the scraps thrown to them by guys.
This is what I don't understand. Men sit and question and whine that girls are only attracted to the mean guys, the guys who berate them and belittle them and don't appreciate them and don't want them; who use them for sex and think of little else than where their next conquest will be made. Men complain that they never meet nice girls, girls who are genuinely interested and compelling, who are intelligent and sweet and smart and beautiful; men despair that no good women want to share in their lives, that girls play mindgames, that girls love to keep them hanging. Yet, men, I ask you: were you to meet one of these genuinely interested, thrillingly compelling, interesting and intelligent and sweet and beautiful and smart girls, were you to give her your number and wait for her to call... and if you were to receive a call from her the next day and she, in her truthful, loyal, intelligent and straightforward nice girl fashion, were to tell you that she finds you intriguing and attractive and interesting and worth her time and perhaps material from which she could fashion a ...boyfriend, would you or would you not immediately call your friends to tell them of the "stalker chick" you'd met the night prior, who called you and wore her heart on her sleeve and told the truth? And would you, or would you not, refuse to make plans with her, speak with her, see her again, and once again return to the bar or club or party scene and search once more for this "nice girl" who you just cannot seem to find? Because therein lies the truth, guys: we nice girls are everywhere. But you're not looking for a nice girl. You're not ...looking for someone genuinely interested in your intermural basketball game, or your anatomy midterm grade, or that argument you keep having with your father; you're looking for a quick fix, a night when you can pretend to have a connection with another human being which is just as disposable as the condom you were using during it.
So don't say you're on the lookout for nice girls, guys, when you pass us up on every step you take. Sometimes we go undercover; sometimes we go in disguise: sometimes when that girl in the low cut shirt or the too tight miniskirt won't answer your catcalls, sometimes you're looking at a nice girl in whore's clothing - - we might say we like the attention, we might blush and giggle and turn back to our friends, but we're all thinking the same thing: "This isn't me. Tomorrow morning, I'll be wearing a teeshirt and flannel shorts, I'll have slept alone and I'll be making my hungover best friend breakfast. See through the disguise. See me." You never do. Why? Because you only see the exterior, you only see the slutty girl who welcomes those advances. You don't want the nice girl.. so don't say you're looking for a relationship: relationships take time and energy and intent, three things we're willing to extend - - but in return, we're looking for compassion and loyalty and trust, three things you never seem willing to express. Maybe nice guys finish last, but in the race they're running they're chasing after the whores and the sluts and the easy-targets... the nice girls are waiting at the finish line with water and towels and a congradulatory hug (and yes, if she's a nice girl and she likes you, the sweatiness probably won't matter), hoping against hope that maybe you'll realize that they're the ones that you want at the end of that silly race.
So maybe it won't last forever. Maybe some of those guys in that race will turn in their running shoes and make their way to the concession stand where we're waiting; however, until that happens, we still have each other, that silly race to watch, and all the chocolate we can eat (because what's a concession stand at a race without some chocolate?)

Hope you enjoyed that :-).

Okay, here's the deal -
Today we had a snow day because the Northeast got SLAMMED with snow, so I have the whole day to write this next chapter.
Expect it or shun me forever.
And in addition to that, I've decided to go with option 2 from the previous entry, definitely.
I also have to read 1984 by George Orwell in its entirety for English tomorrow, or I will surely perish.
Man, it's not even 1:00 yet? Bah, humbug.
I'm sick of snow. Anyone want some of it?
Oh, also - I got my prom dress. It's a lot like the one I described that Lily gets in SWBL, which I thought was super ironic. I'm sure I'll post a picture of it soon enough.

Okay, I posted the next chapter of She Will Be Loved a couple of days ago and got a good response to it, hooray for that.
I am sad, however, to report that there will only be two more chapters to She Will Be Loved then an epilogue (or one more chapter and an epilogue - I haven't decided yet).
SO, this being said, I decided that I need to come up with a dynamite premise for my next long story. I went back through all my old journal entires and found these two ideas that I had and never carried out:
One: Hermione suffered trauma and loss early in her life. The war left her with nothing except her daughter, Constance, the one thing she can hold on to for the rest of her life. Now it's 11 years later and Constance is going to Hogwarts, and Hermione is left adjusting to her new marriage. Will she ever be able to rebuild the person she once was? Can her new husband make her see beyond the negative?
Two: It's after that event that never happened in my mind, aka Sirius' death *laughs* and Remus is looking particularly tired and old and whatnot, and so he finds a recipie for a de-aging potion. So...while he's making it, he accidentally slips another ingredient in it and he wakes up in the middle of the night after taking it and he's the spitting image of his 17 year old self with several exaggerations, as well. So anyway, he figures out that the potion lasts exactly 6 hours and decides to go test it on Harry, Hermione and Ron...they don't have a clue who he is, and he goes to Dumbledore, who decides it would be a good idea to have someone of authority watching over Harry and Ron and Hermione at all times, moreso than a Professor. So he has Remus stock up on the stuff and pose as a student at Hogwarts. However, Harry is going through his photo album and sees a picture of the Marauders and identifies him and confronts him, but Remus makes him swear never to tell anyone. In the meantime, Hermione's got a cruuush on this boy who's 17 and is supposedly named John.
Now, should I do either of those, or should I come up with a completely different idea? If any of you have any plot ideas or incorporations as well don't hesitate to let me know. I'm looking for a really audience-grabbing plot such as I had with SWBL. I loved the popularity I had with that story - I've never gotten that many reviews on any story, and I'd like to do it again.
So yes, share any and all opinions :-).

Yesterday I posted Picking Up The Pieces, a oneshot I wrote and posted in this livejournal quite a long time ago.
It got a better response than I thought it would (I considered it a bit corny and not one of my best pieces - just something I wrote and wanted to post for the hell of it), so that was relatively exciting.
I just found out that the $5,000 scholarship toward my tuition at Curry can be renewed every year, meaning I'm now receiving $20,000 over the course of four years *is dizzy*.
Maroon 5 is coming to Boston on April 2nd, and I think my father has recently decided that he likes me or something (no, that's a joke...he's always liked me, hah) because he has decided to purchase my ticket to see Maroon 5 (although it's only $35) and drive Andy and I into Boston for the show (Mom doesn't want me taking the train alone, well -with one other person - I don't think she realizes that in 7 or 8 months I'll be living only 7 miles outside downtown Boston and will often be taking trains and subways...).
In any case, I've only got about another page left of the next chapter of She Will Be Loved and I'm completely stuck and lacking motivation. I'm so sorry guys, I'm really trying here.
Side note - I couldn't be happier to be graduating this year. Yesterday I had my final encounted ever with my awful guidance counselor and I'm ecstatic. Over the years she has been nothing but negative and condescending to me - aren't guidance counselors supposed to be supportive and positive? My junior year she strongly advised me to rethink applying to four-year colleges, private four year colleges in particular, because it would be a "waste"...Too bad I've been accepted to a private four-year college with a Merit-based scholarship to boot. I hate that woman.
And yesterday she compared me to several of my other classmates and basically talked down to me for being 59th in a class of 281. True, it's not the highest rank, but I am in the top 22% or so of the class. I hate that woman, and I never have to see her again.
...Except, of course, when she comes into my work [the library] and checks out about 10 trashy romance novels at a time - then I just laugh at her.
Working a long day tomorrow, so it's off to bed with me.
G'night, everyone.

Sorry that I broke my promise of updates. I had to go to my Dad's on Friday and I got stuck up there; Massachusetts is in a state of emergency or something right now. My city got 30-something inches of snow so, no school for a couple days. They can't find anything to do with all the snow, lol.
I'm almost finished with the next chapter, though. I spent a good portion of my day yesterday typing it up and I will probably continue later. Right now I won't, though, because I have an awful stomach virus. I won't get into details. I'm attempting to drink some tea right now, but I'm not sure how well it will go over.
Random excitement, good things about these snow days:
>>I have absolutely no work to do for school because last week was finals and we are switching semesters whenever we go back. >>I don't have to make up these days of school in the summer - the joys of being a senior! >>My work is closed...yessss.
That's it. I'm going to go try to feel better *sigh*. Hopefully an update later. I'm aiming for 3:00.

I'm back! Bet you thought you'd never see me again, didn't you??
I've been so, so, so busy lately. I pray you don't all hate me. I recently had to get all my college stuff out in the mail (and now I'm impatiently awaiting return letters) and this week is finals (I only have two on Thursday, so that's the only day I have to be in school...yesss).
But anyway, I decided to go in a completely different direction with the next chapter than I had originally decided (I hate it when I change my mind like that) so I'm currently writing it...
On top of writing this chapter, between today and tomorrow I must do the following:
-Finish my art project (I'm designing the production of Romeo & Juliet set in the 80s...Ihave to design 3 costumes and two sets. The balcony scene is taking place in a fire escape...amazing, is it not?) -Do my take-home sociology test & finish in study guide to hand in. -Do my sociology paper (this is my sociology final) on Episcopalians. -Write my English essay (part of my grade on my exam). -Get all my English materials from the beginning of the year together and study them...ugh, that will be peachy.
So this may not be done until Friday-ish. All my finals are over by 2pm on Thursday, and I PROMISE to devote all my time after that (well, actually after I get out of work at 6 on Thursday) to the writing and posting of this chapter...I owe you guys big.
Side note: my boyfriend said that I look like a more attractive Miss Piggy last night...he is so clumsy with his words and I adore it.
One more side note: Next Monday I'm starting my last semester ever of high school...
I promise to keep you guys posted on my status as a pending college student. Hoping for a letter soon.
